NEW SHOW: Dorah Sithole & Lentswe Bhengu Bring Flava To etv

The show will see six queens go head to head in a battle for a R100 000 prize. In each episode, the queens are tasked with cooking traditional dishes with a gourmet twist. The queen with the least votes from the judges will be eliminated.

“e.tv is excited to have Flava Queens come to our viewers’ screens,” says Marlon Davids, e.tv Managing Director. “The show is a new take on reality cooking shows, with dynamic contestants and a great host.”

Flava Queens is hosted by Chef Lentswe Bhengu, alongside resident judge Dorah Sitole. Born and bred in KwaZulu-Natal, Chef Bhengu is a graduate of The Culinary Academy in the Cape Winelands and has worked in various restaurants, including Savoy Cabbage, The Roundhouse Restaurant and Saucisse Deli.

Former True Love magazine food editor Dorah Sitole hails from Soweto. She has cooked, styled and written her way into the hearts of food lovers everywhere. Dorah is also a published author, with her book From Cape to Cairo, which later became Cooking from Cape to Cairo.

Flava Queens is produced by award-winning production company, Rapid Blue, the producers of SA’s Got Talent.

“We enjoyed making Flava Queens for Wellington’s and e.tv and believe that the show will stimulate lots of creativity at home as viewers find new ways of cooking their favourite meals,” says Kee-Leen Irvine, Rapid Blue Managing Director

In the 6-episode reality show, Chef Bhengu will travel the townships of Gauteng to find a community where the queens will put their skills to test.

"The Wellington’s brand is proud to bring Flava Queens to South African homes and seeing traditional dishes being celebrated. Seeing the contestants bump up the flavour, as well as bring their own gourmet twits to these dishes in a competition format, makes for great entertainment." says Morne Fourie, Kraft Heinz Southern Africa Managing Director

Catch Flava Queens on Friday, 19 May at 5:30PM on e.tv and eHD.
