Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has proven that every opportunity could be a launching pad for great things in one's life. The former contestant on Big Brother is going to host the show that thrust him, just a young lawyer at the time, into the spotlight in 2006.
Speaking to Negirian publication Vangurd in 2013, Ebuka said of his exposure from Big Brother;
"So many things have happened since then. Anyway, the show did turn my life in a completely different direction. I had not really thought about working on television until then. The first job I got was a Guinness sponsored show called ‘Friend or Foe’. It was a game show that ran for 2 seasons. I loved every minute of it even though it was a learning experience. It helped me understand how tough working in the media can be. I only saw the glamour up until that point."
Big Brother Naija will premiere on DStv in Nigeria via Multichoice Nigeria on Sunday January 22nd with a live 2 hour premiere to kick off the second edition.
“We are particularly excited to have Ebuka as host of Big Brother Naija. This was the platform that unearthed his potentials and propelled him to stardom,” said John Ugbe, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria.

We believe his cool and debonair personality combined with his healthy dose of wit will spice up the show. Our viewers are in for a great entertainment experience!”
The winner of the second Nigerian edition of the reality competition show will win 25 million Naira ( thats about R1million) and a brand new Kia Sorento.
