Disappointing Season Premiere For Quantico But 3.9 Mil Americans Still Watched Pearl Thusi

South Africans, sans Ntsiki Mazwai, have been celebrating the debut of our princess Pearl Thusi on US television network ABC's show, Quantico. While the premiere of this season opened way below its 2015-2016 season, over 3 million American households still got to meet our Pearl.

Quantico's 10pm premiere on ABC in the US pulled an estimated share 1.0/3 in the 18-49 Adult market with a 3.61 audience reach. This is a 47% drop in the demo and 49% in viewers from its series premiere last season.

US critics attribute less-than stellar ABC Sunday drama lineup premieres ratings to having them being pitted against "Sunday Night Football". “Once Upon a Time,” “Quantico,” and “Secrets and Lies” all struggled against “Sunday Night Football.” with its 12.9 rating and 21 share for NBC drawing an estimated 18.2 million viewers at 20h30 pm that night.

Numbers aside, this was still a huge moment for Pearl Thusi. Barring any unforeseen circumstance like the show being canned on this season, she has now established herself as a potential Hollywood player and can ride off of this opportunity for more roles states side.

Factoring in that series download is a huge market all over the world, 10s of millions of people will get to see the name Pearl Thusi below the title of a hit American show and of course get to watch her do her thing on the show.

As for South African audiences seeing her on Quantico; well we will only know the results of this month's tv ratings sometime in October. Unfortunately Vuzu does not perform well as a channel generally so do not expect Generations numbers there.
