They say radio is the natural progression for any South African tv presenter, I just say bills gotta get paid so a lot of personalities in the industry venture into as many opportunities as they can. Selimathunzi presenter Siphesihle Vazi has just made his radio debut on uKhozi FM.
Hosted by Sthandwa Nzuza, Bhamp to Bhamp is a music and variety show targeted at an audience of between 16-35years of age. It also profiles local talents/artists and gives them a platform to showcase their work.
For his part, Vazi will be keeping the show's listeners abreast with information about the biggest event and parties on the social calendar as well as inform them about where the parties will be happening.
In February 2015, Ukhozi FM was named the biggest station in South Africa and in Africa, with a 20.5% market share and more than 7.7million listeners a week. The isiZulu language anchored station is followed closely by its commercial cousin, Metro FM, with 17% market share and more than 6million listeners each week. Umhlobo Wenene FM is the third-biggest public broadcaster with 11.3% market share. Thobela FM stands at 9.2%, Motsweding FM at 8.30% and Lesedi FM at 7.7%.
Coming from a primetime show [Selimathunzi] on the country's biggest tv channel [SABC1], Vazi's addition of another titan [uKhoziFM] to his resumè can only spell good fortune for this industry nouvelle étoile.
